Why is High Tensile Wire used in Prestressing concrete and precast concrete structures?
Pre- stressed Concrete is an architectural and structural material processing great strength. The unique characteristics of pre-stressed concrete allow predetermined, engineering stresses to be placed in members to counteract stresses that occur when the unit is subjected to service loads. This is accomplished by combining the best properties of two quality materials: high strength concrete for compression and high tensile strength steel strands for tension.
Can you specify applications of PC wire products?
PC wires / strands are used in pre-stressing concrete for flooring in residential housing and precast concrete products: concrete pipes, railway sleepers, pc piles and posts, ground anchors, etc.
Do you follow certain standards for PC wires to secure reliability and safety of using your wire products?
We manufacture and supply Prestressed PC Steel Wire for Concrete following the standard of ASTM, JIS, BS, DIN or GB for customers’s options.
How do you pack your products?
Standard export packing suitable for long way sea transformation. Usually packed on strong wooden reel with kraft paper outside in the length of 1000 meters per wooden reel, 500 meters per reel and 300 meters per reel. Cutomized package available.
What is standard Delivery Condition of the pc wire products?
Normally each coil of wire strand shall carry a label stating the following information:
a) the Nominal diameter;
b) the specified characteristic breaking load;
c) the class of relaxation;
d) the coil number related to test certificate; and
e) the manufactur's name
Do you provide technical data sheet for PC strand?
Yes, we provide data on the following along with test certificates:
Nominal Diameter of Strand mm
Tolerance on the Nominal diameter of strand mm
Nominal Cross-sectional area of strand sq.mm
Nominal mass of strand g/m
Minimum breaking load kN
0.2% proof load kN
Modulous of Elasticity kg/cm2
Maximum relazation after 1000h of operation at intial load equivalent to:
60% of breking load %
70% of breking load %
80% of breking load %
Coil weight, length and diameter
Why Indented PC Wire / Bar for Concrete Reinforcing?
In the pre-tensioned concrete application, the pre-stressed steel wire is tensioned approx. 70 to 80% of the minimum specified breaking load of steel wire prior to casting of concrete. After initial setting of concrete, the pre-tensioned steel wire is released and the stress in the wire is induced in the concrete. This induced compressive stress will neutralize the tensile stress caused by the acting loads on the concrete member. In the case of pre-tensioning, it is important that adequate bond is created between the steel wire and concrete in order to transfer the desired compressive force from the steel wire to the concrete.
In order to improve the bond strength and achieve a consistently low transmission length, regular indentations of specified shape in the wire surface in either opposite or 120-degree planes or 90-degree planes were introduced.
How to get Steel Wire / Rod Indented?
In the known art of indenting operation, it is possible only to make 2, 3 or 4-sided intermittent indentation on the surface of the wire. This indentation is normally carried out on a wire-drawing machine and is effected by pulling the wire through appropriate indenting rolls.
Are you a trading company or manufacturer?
We are a professional manufacturer with factory, our primary products include pc wire / strand, reinforcing steel and various fittings for concrete constructions.
